![]() ![]() Before becoming a disciple and apostle of Jesus Christ, John was apparently a disciple of John the Baptist. John and his brother James are fishermen. Throughout the Gospel, he calls himself the "disciple whom Jesus loved". That whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, Gospel of John of the New Testament, Chapter 3, Verse 16 If you’ve never seen it before, or if you haven’t realized what the specific location of it is, this is the verse under that we talk about when we mention John 3:16. The first thing to look at is the verse itself. □ It is throughout this section that more is revealed pertaining to Jesus, God and the way in which each can contribute to the way in which salvation is promised to those who believe. The discussion pertains to who could ‘see the kingdom of God’ and of salvation and condemnation. This Bible verse, found in chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel of John, of the New Testament) encapsulates a portion of the discussion between Jesus and Nicodemus, ruler of the Jews.
